On Tuesday nights, we hand over the stage to our talented company of seasoned magicians performing new and experimental works they have perfected for the stage. Each performance begins with astounding close-up magicians strolling through the cabaret, stopping to perform magic right at your table, and ends with a stage show that will surely deliver something you have never seen before.

Experience the magic of connection in Magic is People, a one-man show by founding company member of Chicago Magic Lounge and fan favorite, Justin Purcell. Drawing on years of performing magic in bars across Chicago, Justin creates an experience where the audience isn’t just watching magic; they’re part of it. Inspired by Chicago legend Matt Schulien’s belief that “magic is people,” the show celebrates the connection between magician and spectator—the real magic that happens in the moment.

Named Chicago’s Best Bar Magician by Chicago Magazine for performing “with the aplomb of a ringmaster and the flair of a standup comedian,” Justin combines dry wit, skill, and a deep understanding of audience interaction in an evening that’s as personal as it is impossible.

The Signature Show is a specially crafted evening of socializing and entertainment. The evening starts with close-up magic performed right at your cabaret table by our talented house magicians. In between visits, you will have time to socialize, order from our friendly waitstaff, and enjoy the ambiance of the Harry Blackstone Cabaret Theater™. The table magic is followed by a 60-minute stage show featuring some of the best magicians working today.

Guests who purchase Premium tickets (Front Row, Main Floor, and Main Floor Banquette) are invited to an exclusive performance of close-up magic directly after the main stage show in our 43-seat close-up gallery, the “654 Club.” Limited Availability.

The Chicago Magic Lounge proudly presents our newest production, The Close-Up Show. Three featured magicians will perform sleight-of-hand each Monday on the Harry Blackstone Cabaret stage, with the magician’s most subtle movements projected live onto the big screen for the audience to see. Enjoy being fooled as you follow the magician’s every move. You will have an up-close view of the magic wherever you are seated and might even be part of the act! No two shows are alike!

The Close-Up Show seating begins at 7:00 p.m., and the stage show starts at 7:30 p.m. The show’s runtime is approximately 90 minutes, with two brief breaks between acts, and does not include table magic before the stage show.
